Elizabeth is passionate about providing every student with the high-quality education and experiences they deserve, no matter their background. Furthermore, Elizabeth will address key controversial issues directly with a commitment to unifying our community and respecting diverse perspectives. She will ensure that these topics are approached in a way that reflects our shared values and promote inclusivity, always aiming for common goals that benefit all students.
ELIZABETH'S TOP PRIORITIES
Emphasis on Scholastic Achievement

  • Make public schools competitive again by investing in high quality resources from reputable education companies. 

  • Address learning loss or underperformance by meeting students where they are academically and strengthening their skills by including targeted intervention programs with remedial materials ensuring that all students receive the support they need to succeed.

  • Institute a career readiness alternative pathway to graduation that prepares students for skilled trades and continually engaging community leaders and private businesses. 
     

Funding and Allotments
  • Ensure money is being spent effectively in ways that directly impacts instruction such as books, materials, programs, and teacher allotment and salaries by advocating for transparent budgeting processes.

  • Address facilities management issues to keep older schools updated by making it a regular agenda review line item.

  • Address busing issues for non-local students to enable them to participate in extracurricular activities, tutoring opportunities, and enrichment programs by taking the shaping policy based on the direct feedback of parents, school administrators, and bus drivers.
     

Support Our Teachers
  • Address high attrition rate of educators by supporting regular salary increases and items on Teacher Working Conditions survey.

  • Ensure that Board plans are shaped by the voices / direct feedback from the teachers across the district, and that policies support educators in delivering the best outcomes for students.

  • Reinstate student conduct expectations and infractions rubric to encourage positive behavior, academic achievement and mitigate safety concerns by using best practices of successful districts.

  • Ensure that the Arts, World Language, Career and Technical Education programs are fully funded to provide students with a well-rounded education by negotiating with county and legislative leaders.
